Aston Martin DBS V8,
Recently we at Rowse Motors in Warragul turned our skills to an Austin Martin DBS,which was in need of some repairs. Engine out to access automatic transmission for a freshen up. Repairs to leaking sump, after a fresh coat of paint in the engine bay, back in with the engine and transmission. few more repairs on the wiring, a quick wash and she was all ready to go.
Below are some of pictures of the car being serviced etc at our Warragul workshop.
Produced from May 1972 through July 1973, the Series 2 used a similar engine to the DBS V8, albeit with Bosch fuel injection rather than the earlier carburetors. Just 288 Series 2 cars were built. Although David Brown had left the company, he had overseen development of this model. The first 17 cars still carried leftover “DBS V8” badging
A new lead actor saw a new lead Aston Martin as the Aston Martin DBS was chosen to appear in the 1969 film ‘On Her Majesty’s Secret Service’, the first and only outing as Bond for George Lazenby. Introduced in 1967, the DBS initially used the same 6-cylinder engine used in the DB6 until the DBS V8 was launched in 1970.
